Chita Erayanie is an Indonesian-born illustrator living in London.
Growing up surrounded by picture books and comics, Chita developed a love for drawing from an early age. She pursued this passion at the Bandung Institute of Technology, where she studied Art and Design, specialising in Interior Design. Her studies and subsequent work gave her a strong foundation in technical and perspective drawing.
She later moved into education, working for eight years as an English as a Foreign Language teacher.
In 2018, Chita moved to London to continue her studies, completing a degree in Applied Linguistics at UCL. She then spent several years working as a research analyst while continuing to develop her illustration practice alongside her day job.
In 2020, after completing an online course in picture-book creation, Chita landed her first illustration commission for Little White! She continued to work part-time as an illustrator, including on several pop-up book projects.
In 2023, Chita decided to pursue illustration full-time and signed with Illo Agency. Since then, she has illustrated chapter books including Dangerous Metal, The Railway Children, and Atlas and Skye.
In 2026, Chita was also selected as one of 17 artists to illustrate lion sculptures for a public art trail across London, on display throughout summer 2026.
